He was the youngest son of Sayyiduna Ali [رضي الله عنه] and Sayyida Fatima [رضي الله عنها] and grandson of Prophet Muhammad [صلى الله عليه وسلم‎] and younger brother of Sayyiduna Hassan [رضي الله عنه]. He was also called “Al Mubarak” given title “Sayyid-ush-Shohada” After Karbala Incident.
