Moon Sighting Info for Shawwal 1444 (Eid-ul-Fitr) April 2023

Assalamu alaikum.

Today Thursday 20th of April is the 29th of Ramadhan, 1444 Al-Hijra. Rooty Hill Masjid / IAWSS has conducted moonsighting activities across Australia and liaised with neighbouring countries within the three-hour time zone. This is according to the Sunnah of our Holy Prophet ﷺ.

Based on reliable information and verifications, IAWSS & Rooty Hill Masjid confirms that the Crescent has NOT been sighted anywhere in Australia nor in any neighbouring country within the three-hour time zone.

Accordingly, the month of Ramadhan will be completing 30 days. EID or 1st of Shawwal will be on Saturday 22nd of April 2023. Salat-ul-Eid will be held on Saturday 22nd of April at 8:00 am sharp at Rooty Hill Masjid. 

 

Important Instruction to be followed:

There is no parking space in the Masjid’s car park during the Eid-ul-Fitr Prayer.

Please do not park in the driveway of Masjid’s neighbours.

If you are coming to Masjid after 7:15 am or in the vicinity of the Masjid, please don’t bother to bring your car to Headcorn Street, Carew Street or Plunket Cres at all. Please Park in the neighbouring street and walk to the Masjid. Please don’t create any traffic jams for the Masjid’s neighbours. May Allah SWT reward you for your efforts.

Please park your car correctly to avoid penalties or fines by the council rangers. 

Please pool your cars and arrive early to avoid congestion. 

Please bring Prayer mats with you.
